A Prayer for Calling your Energy Back

My favorite ways to say/listen to meditative prayers is to find a quiet, light-filled space to light a candle, burn incense or diffuse oils to ground my senses. Or I choose to go for a walk and stay grounded in the present through the sensation of walking and seeing as I pray.
Meditative prayer allows you to stay rooted in your physical body as you connect with your Essence. For those of us with religious or spiritual trauma, it shifts us out of looking for some “out there” god or spiritual experience, and instead reorients you to knowing that your life and body are the container for your spiritual life.
Connecting to yourself in this way supports you to regulate your nervous system, anchor your spiritual self in the here and now, and helps you remember the power of choice— something only available to us when we feel safe. From this place of safety we can allow life to happen and relate to others without taking on their energy, or matching their energy.
Say this prayer as a command, affirmation and statement over yourself.
Pay non-judgmental attention to what happens for you as you listen. Can you hold your attention on your body as you listen in? Can you keep your eyes open and present to your environment while feeling your body receive this?
