Living From Soul and Dropping Workaholism: 3 things to ask yourself so you can set yourself free

Have you ever felt like you were on the verge of living your truth freely, but something was holding you back??

Me too.

See, last year I "achieved" all of my 5 year goals... in one year.

Workshops and retreats cross country. Built and launched 2 programs. Won an international award. A long client waitlist. 6 figures. It was everything I had wanted by the time I was 30; all at once

By the end of the year, I was completely spent.

The creativity was no longer flowing. I was NOT feeling spacious, free or at peace. I began to feel like an impostor.  Something was still holding me back.

I took time offline to look at the old-programming that was informing my decisions.

It said:

  • I’ll rest when I’m dead

  • God helps those who help themselves

  • Nothing good in life comes free (or easy)

  • When’s the next shoe going to drop?

  • If you want to be taken seriously, work like a man (which really just meant, work harder, work more, PROVE YOURSELF worthy)

Truth be told, I learned these workaholic patterns from my hard-working, busy, business-owning parents. It’s all I’d ever known and I didn’t know another way to be.

When we operate from old-programming, we are unable to show up with freedom.

When we live from Soul, we are authentic and overflowing.

PAUSE. Let’s define what the heck that actually means.

  • Soul-Living-  sōl/ˈliviNG |

    • Living in such a way that your mind, heart and higher-self are aligned.

    • Creativity, possibility, boundaries, flow, faith and purpose rest easy here.

    • You’ll feel free, worthy of your desires, at peace and spacious.

  • Old Programming- ōld ˈprōˌɡramiNG/

    • Living out the “shoulds,” stories, generational patterns and unconscious beliefs handed down from ancestors, community, greater culture and media.

    • Unease, restlessness, hiding your truth and shame dwell here.

    • You’ll feel like you’re playing small, hiding or even just bored with life.

Waking up from the illusion of old-programming usually comes with a desire for more from life, wanting to stop the Performance, get real and set yourself free.

Ok, up to speed?

When you live out of your old patterns, you are unconsciously juggling beliefs, behaviors and stories that are not even yours, but were handed to you!  (It’s all you know). But, when you zoom out and see there is another way, you realize how trapped, and stressedcrazy, the old programming made you.

There is more for you in life than juggling “shoulds” and expectations.

If you are:

  • Following the “safe and logical” career path you should be doing instead of writing that book or moving across the country...

  • Undervaluing your gifts because making money should be “hard...”

  • Continuing to go to that church or group and biting your tongue when you have doubts, because speaking your truth means forsaking your belonging…

  • Staying in relationships where you often feel small, over-give and sacrifice your desires because that’s what “loving, nice women do” (I call bullshit)...

Then I urge you: Wake up and set yourself FREE

You can stop the performance.

You can stop juggling the old beliefs.

You can give yourself space to find the REAL you.

If you want to take radical responsibility for your life and live your Soul’s truth, ask yourself these 3 questions:

1 - GET HONEST

If there were no one’s feelings to consider, no opinions to face, no expectations… what would I do differently?

2 - GET CURIOUS

If there were limitless possibilities for a new way, what kind of life would I want to create?

3 - GET EMBODIED

What do I need to shift in my life in order to embody this truer version of myself?

That’s how you set yourself free. You tell yourself the truth and decide to embody it.

Cheers to Soul-Living!
